Introduction
Stefano Cavalli, PhD in sociology, is professor of life course and aging at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) and head of the Centre of Competence on Ageing. His main areas of interest are transitions and life events, autobiographical memory, frailty and vulnerability, centenarians, and end-of-life decisions. He has an extensive expertise on the study of perceptions of changes, research design, and international comparisons.
