Introduction
I am the head of the Karl Donath Laboratory for Hard Tissue and Biomaterial Research. We use the technique of my teacher Karl Donath to produce undecalcified thin ground sections. The analysis of µCT-scans has become an equally important tool for our research. Both techniques are applied to study the osseointegration of dental implants and the performance of bone substitute materials. As a physical anthropologist I am also interested in the development, growth and aging of the human skeleton.
