Primena informacionih tehnologija i virtuelne izrade odlivaka pored skraćivanja vremena osvajanja proizvoda i smanjenja troškova proizvodnje omogućuje i proizvodnju kvalitetnijih odlivaka u prvom pokušaju, što može značajno doprineti povećanju tehničke kompetentnosti i privredne konkurentnosti livnica u Republici Srbiji. Prilagođavanje zahtevima globalnog tržišta, povećanje tehničkih sposobnosti i ekonomske efikasnosti zahteva od livnica u Srbiji racionalizaciju i optimizaciju proizvodnje odlivaka. S obzirom na produktivnost, količinu škarta, utrošak energije po kilogramu odlivka, primenom kompjuterske simulacije livenja bitno se utiče na pobolјšanje poslovanja livnica u Srbiji.U ovom trenutku teško je pretpostaviti da pojedinačno livnice, u Republici Srbiji pri razvoju novih proizvoda i optimizaciji tehnologije livenja metala mogu primeniti najnovije kompjuterske tehnologije, bilo da je to povezano s nabavkom skupih softvera ili edukacijom i zapošlјavanjem stručnjaka specifičnog profila.
