Objective : Motivated by the well documented worldwide spread of adverse drug events, as well as the increased danger of antibiotic resistance (caused mainly by inappropriate prescribing and overuse), we propose a novel recommendation system for antibiotic prescription (PARS).
Method : Our approach is based on the combination of semantic technologi...
We consider the risk of adverse drug events caused by antibiotic prescriptions. Antibiotics are the second most common cause of drug related adverse events and one of the most common classes of drugs associated with medical malpractice claims. To cope with this serious issue, physicians rely on guidelines, especially in the context of hospital pres...

Nowadays there is a real need to operate and link existing knowledge expressed by experts, in domains in which highly reliable recommendation systems are needed. This is especially true in the medical domain where knowledge sources are heterogeneous, since they are separately formed in different contexts. A major difficulty is to relate these sourc...

Inappropriate prescriptions and overuse of antibiotics are the two main reasons in the continuously increasing danger of the emergence of antibiotic resistance. Several works tried to handle this issue by supporting physicians on antibiotic prescribing decision. However, these works are based on explicitly encoded knowledge, which induces not only...
The present work aims at designing a MCDA model that allows to match two bodies of knowledge (encoded as ontologies), one relative to the patient and the other to antibiotics pharmacology.
We propose an Electre-Tri like MCDA procedure to sort the suitable antibiotics in three categories (Recommended, Possible, To Be Avoided) taking into account (i)...
Appropriate use of antibiotics is a major issue in today's medicine. The increasing bacterial resistance to antibiotics pushes physicians to be careful when they prescribe antibiotics. Given the complex nature of antibiotic prescription requirements, it becomes necessary to support physicians to take such decisions. We propose a decision support sy...
The objective of this paper is to present the numerical method that generate numerically the graph of states and the graph of state classes for Time Petri nets, based on the matrix that describes Petri nets and based on computing power of machines. The results can be used to search for a desired or not desired state by giving realizable firing sche...
