Introduction
My research interest is the interface between EBD, clinical education, and comprehensive patient care. This research field includes creating and reporting clinical evidence, designing and describing practical methods to include principles of EBD in pre-clinical and clinical education, and analyzing best-available-evidence resources.
Furthermore, I promote EBD integration in dental education, resulting in the development of sustainable critical thinking and improved patient care.

Statement of problem
Postpolymerization methods influence the properties of 3-dimensionally (3D) printed materials. Nevertheless, it is a time-consuming step that could lead dentists to avoid the chairside use of 3D printing. Information assessing the impact of different postpolymerization workflows on flexural strength and color stability is spars...
Periodontal disease has been associated with various systemic diseases including kidney disease. However, a causal relationship is yet to be established. One possible association is that periodontitis may cause an increased inflammatory response in kidney disease patients which in turn destroys endothelial vasculature. This may contribute to develo...

Background
Bio cellulose is a byproduct of sweet tea fermentation known as kombusha. During the biosynthesis by bacteria cellulose chains are polymerized by enzyme from activated glucose. The single chains are then extruded through the bacterial cell wall. Interestingly, a potential of the Kombucha’s byproduct bio cellulose (BC) as biomaterial had...

During a fiber post cementation, bonding failure often occurs at the junction between the fiber-post and resin-cement. Because this failure requires better characterization, we evaluated if different post surface treatment can affect the bond strength of urethane dimethacrylate (UDMA) fiber-posts with resin-cements. Three groups were created: G1: n...

Objective:
Oral cancer is an increasingly growing health care burden in many parts of the world. Due to the relatively low prevalence of oral cancer, screening will lead to a low yield and a high proportion of false positive results. Clinical examination without histologic diagnosis can lead to misdiagnosis in over 40% of cases, especially when pr...

Ideal interproximal contacts between adjacent natural teeth or dental restorations are a critical factor for the health of the dental-alveolar complex. Interproximal contact tightness is a physiological entity affected by many patient-related and restorative parameters. This variation poses a challenge in defining the "clinically acceptable" contac...
Although needle breakage is a rare event in dentistry, the occurrence can cause significant distress to the patient and the clinician. Taking appropriate measures to prevent this mishap is best. However, when this event occurs, appropriate planning and retrieval of the needle can lessen the detrimental effects. In this report, we document the migra...
MRI has been established as the imaging modality of choice for the evaluation of temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD), as it allows for a noninvasive detailed evaluation of the joint that is not otherwise available. During the last decade, the introduction of dynamic (cine-mode) MR imaging has made functional evaluation feasible in addition to t...

The purpose of this paper is to present the result...
IL-12p70 is a proinflammatory cytokine secreted by dendritic cells, monocytes and macrophages. It plays a crucial role in cell-mediated immunity by inducing proliferation of T cell and natural killer cells, and enhancing their cytotoxic activity. In adaptive immune response, it acts on naive T cells to differentiate into Th1-type cells. It is compo...
Caries development is determined by a balance of protective and pathological factors, so the clinician should be able to identify and document those factors, understand their relative weight in disease development or reversal, and make recommendations to patients that will lead to risk reduction. The caries management by risk assessment (CAMBRA) pr...
Patient recall should be a tool to support prevention, allow early intervention, and ensure long-term dental health. Although the concept of patient-customized recall intervals has increased in popularity, recommendations vary significantly. Concepts of risk assessment-derived recalls are described in the literature separately for caries, periodont...
The evolution of production systems is tightly linked to the story of Toyota Motor Company (TMC) that has its roots around 1918. The term “lean” was coined in 1990 following the exploration of the Toyota model that led to the “transference” thesis sustaining the concept that manufacturing problems and technologies are universal problems faced by ma...
