Kenya envisioned that by 2030 it would have improved citizen livelihood through agricultural industrialization. Some challenges exist in achieving this goal, especially the effects of climate change and technology transfer. Sugarcane production, for instance, has been elusive with several factories in Kenya experiencing losses. In this work, we exp...

Extensive use of chemicals in food production, although useful, has serious implications. Acaricides, which are extensively used to control ticks and mites in livestock farming, can leave harmful residues that pose risks to unintended organisms such as plants, insects, people, and other animals. Thus, limiting non-target exposure to acaricides is c...

Question
During my soxhlet extraction experiments, the siphoning process abruptly stopped working. On reporting the same to my instructor, she just took aluminium foil and covered the whole soxhlet extraction chamber and the process started normally. On inquiring what was the scientific concept behind this restarting procedure, she just said...'it has worked for me in years'. As a scientist, I wish to know the underlying concept, any help?
Question
A scientific argument between my friends ended up unresolved as regards the amount of food organisms consume. Whereas some were of the idea that the bigger the organism, the less they will consume 'old high school theory', some of us think any organism will consume food relative to its average daily energy consumption before the system reports satisfaction. And if this average value is exceeded, the system resorts to storing the extra food as fat.  Any scientific data and suggestions on this topic will be very helpful to our group of 'confused' scientists.
Question
Most data from WHO and USEPA is either based on human effect levels or modelling. I need real data.
