Uočeno je da su u Republici Hrvatskoj, za razliku od zemalja u Europi i svijetu, nedovoljno poznate i nedovoljno zastupljene futurološke metode u nastavi i istraživanjima na području odgoja i obrazovanja. Pored navedenoga, uočeno je da su u metodološkome smislu najmanje zastupljena istraživanja koja se bave predviđanjem budućnosti (koristeći znanstveni pristup), ali i nedovoljno cijenjene u odnosu na istraživačke metode koje uglavnom pripadaju kvantitativnoj metodologiji i pozitivističkoj paradigmi. Uz pomoć recentne literature iz ovoga područja, planiraju se istražiti i izdvojiti futurološke metode koje bi bile najprimjerenije za primjenu u istraživanjima odgoja i obrazovanja. Futurologija i futurološke metode su važne posebno iz razloga što nas pripremaju za buduće izazove, ali i doprinose pozitivno usmjerenoj budućnosti što predstavlja značajnu društvenu dobrobit. Sukladno promjenama koje (ne)izravno utječu na naš obrazovni sustav, nužno je da ponudimo rješenja za uočene probleme, kako bi se mladi ljudi uspješno nosili sa izazovima koji ih čekaju te bili pozitivno umjereni na svoju budućnost. Zagovaranje rasprostranjene svijesti o budućnosti i promišljanja o budućnosti zajednička je obveza sveučilišnih profesora koji odgajaju i obrazuju generacije studenata za budućnost. Tijekom trajanja projekta, planirana je analiza izvedbenih planova studijskih programa koji odgajaju i obrazuju za buduće učitelje i odgojitelje, a koji se izvode na Fakultetu za odgojne i obrazovne znanosti, Sveučilišta Josipa Jurja Strossmayera u Osijeku kako bi se utvrdilo početno stanje. Također, u metodološkome i sadržajnome smislu bi se analizirali svi diplomski i završni radovi koji su obranjeni od 1. siječnja 2018. do 1. siječnja 2021.
