Introduction
Hello! I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Gender and Security Sector Lab at Cornell University and a former USIP Peace Scholar. I earned my Ph.D. from Purdue University in international relations with a minor in political methodology. My research focuses on security and nonstate actors, using advanced causal inference methods. I study UN peacekeeping, analyzing how peacekeepers, especially women, impact civilian protection. I also research Private Military and Security Contractors.

Generalizing any single research paper to an entire continent leads to ostracization and incorrect conclusions. How can political scientists do better? We examine the top five journals across political science, including the top journals on international relations and comparative politics. We find that many of the publications in top journals use "...

Previous research has shown that peacekeeping operations (PKOs) reduce the intensity of conflict. However, scholars have yet to examine whether this effect persists long-term. Do PKOs durably reduce violence even after they are withdrawn, or do they merely pause violent conflict? This paper uses fine-grained geolocated data on both PKO deployment a...
