Introduction
Her background research in polymer materials was started since 2007 during Master’s Degree in UKM where she involved in development of reinforced plastic/rubber composite by using synthesized polyester thermoset derived from recycled PET bottles. She started working with SIRIM in 2009 and later had secured a Science Fund project from MOSTI in 2013 where she successfully developed a hydrogel film bio-composite based natural polymer that had potential in wound management application. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were produced utilizing the aqueous extract of Colubrina asiatica (C. asiatica) and AgNO 3 solution. The absorption spectra, morphology and size were analyzed using UV-vis spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy and dynamic light scattering method, respectively. The effect of various parameters i.e., reaction tim...
Sintering is the common method for heat treatment of bio ceramic implant. However this procedure is reported not appropriate for fabrication carbonated apatite due to carbonate ions are easily decomposed at above 600°C A carbonated apatite (CO3AP) ceramics was discovered to have a closer chemical composition which is similar to the bone mineral. Th...

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of addition of membrane additives, cholesterol (chol) with further molecular charges modification using Dicetylphosphate (DCP) and Stearylamine (SA) on stability of curcumin niosomes. Niosomes with entrapped curcumin were prepared by thin-film hydration method. This vesicular drug carrier was...
Osteogenesis and degradability of bioresorbable biphasic gypsum-carbonated apatite granules (BPG) were investigated. Three different sizes of gypsum, 300-600 μm (small), 600-1000 μm (medium) and 1000-2000 μm (large), denoted as S, M and L respectively, were developed through the crushing and sieving method. Exposure of gypsum granules in carbonate...
This paper work proposes the idea of super hydrophilic chitosan development in porous sponge form as the bottom part of bi-layer skin regenerating template. In this experiment, 5 different ratios of chitosan: methylcellulose have been prepared by varying the amount of methylcellulose from 10 %, 20 %, 30 %, 40 %, to 50 %. The formation of chitosan-c...
The aim of this paper was to investigate the effects of cross-linked reaction on physicochemical properties of chitosan film by using genipin as cross-linker agent. Series of chitosan film samples with different amount concentration of genipin loaded (0-3 wt %) were prepared and characterized. The physicochemical properties of films were evaluated...
The purpose of this study was to prepare biphasic granules containing gypsum and carbonated apatite at low temperatures. The biphasic granules were prepared using dissolution-precipitation technique at three different temperatures 30°C, 40°C and 50°C. Characterization of the biphasic granules was determined by multiple analytical methods such as X-...
A carbonated apatite (CO3Ap) has a closer chemical composition to the bone mineral which may be suit as an artificial bone substitute. In this study, the fabrication works of biphasic gypsum-carbonated apatite granules has been done through the phase transformation by carbonation and phosphorization of the gypsum granules. Gypsum also known as calc...
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of covalent and ionic cross-linked reactions which were respectively done by using genipin and tripolyphosphate (tpp), on the structure and mechanical properties of chitosan film. Both cross-linked and uncross-linked films were prepared by solution casting method and characterized. FTIR spectra s...
Star polymers have unique characteristics due to their well-defined size and tailor ability which makes these polymers attractive candidates as carriers in drug delivery system applications. This work focuses on attaching a drug to the star polymer (polyamidoamine). The conjugation of polyamidoamine (PAMAM, generation 4) with methotrexate (MTX) (mo...
UPR/LNR/glass fibre composite had been prepared by using unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) based from recycled PET product. PET waste was recycled by glycolisis process and the glycolised product was then reacted with maleic anhydride to produce unsaturated polyester resin. The preparation of UPR/LNR blends were conducted by varying the amount of L...
In this study, polyfethylene terephthalate) (PET) wastes bottle was recycled by glycolysis process using ethylene glycol. The unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) was then prepared by reacting the glycolysed product with maleic anhydride. The blend of UPR based on recycled PET wastes with liquid natural rubber (LNR) was carried out by varying the amou...
