The aim of the project was to determine the identifying capability of poppy parcels with high-resolution satellite images. In the study, Quickbird-2 satellite image was used and suitable processes of ERDAS Imagine, eCognition Developer, and ArcGIS software were run. Accuracy assessment was done with the ground references and the best classification method for poppy parcels was reveal.
The project focuses on the development of yield estimation models by using the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in oil rose gardens which have organic and conventional cultivations.
This study will aim to determine poppy cultivated plots using very high-resolution satellite images and pixel and object-based classification methods. Thus, an approach will be developed to identify poppy-growing areas using remote sensing methods.
