Phytoconstituents have been used extensively in modern science because of their various pharmacological actions with few side effects. Regardless of their excellent therapeutic activity, several phytoconstituents have shown poor bioavailability in vivo. Phytoconstituents possess properties such as poor lipid solubility, large molecular size, and de...

The purpose of the present study was to compare the in vitro release and to find out whether the bioavailability of a 75 mg indomethacin capsule (Microcid SR) was equivalent to optimized formulation (indomethacin-loaded cetyl alcohol microspheres). Indomethacin-loaded cetyl alcohol microspheres were prepared by meltable emulsified cooling-induced t...

In the medical field, the active ingredient is in the form of solid particles for 90% of all medicines. Because of development in nanotechnology, it is now possible to produce drug nanoparticles that can be utilised in a variety of innovative ways according to the need. From few decades, there had been considerable interest in area of nanotechnolog...

The objective of the present study was to minimise the unwanted side effects of Clozapine (CZ) drug by kinetic control of drug release, it was entrapped into gastro resistant, biodegradable waxes such as beeswax (BW) microspheres using meltable emulsified dispersion cooling induced solidification technique utilizing a wetting agent. Solid, discrete...

Background and the purpose of the study Olanzapine is an antipsychotic used in treatment of schizophrenia. This research was carried out to design oral controlled release matrix pellets of water insoluble drug Olanzapine (OZ), using blend of Sodium Alginate (SA) and Glyceryl Palmito-Stearate (GPS) as matrix polymers, micro crystalline cellulose (MC...

The goal of any drug delivery system is to provide a therapeutic amount of drug (s) to the proper site in the body in order to promptly achieve and there by to maintain the desired drug concentrations during treatment. This idealized objective can be achieved by targeting the drugs to a specific organ or tissue with the help of controlling the rele...
Article
The aim of the present study was to formulate biopolymer based transdermal film loaded with Ketoprofen (KF). Transdermal films were prepared by using sodium locust bean gum (LBG) and Sodium alginate (SA) as biopolymers by varying the blend ratios by solution casting method. The drug loaded membranes were evaluated for thickness, tensile behaviors,...
Article
The objective of this study was to prepare and evaluate microparticles of Eudragit and Ethyl cellulose binary blend loaded with theophylline for controlled release. Microparticles were prepared by Phase separation method. The method is quite simple, rapid, and economical and does not imply the use of toxic organic solvents. Solid, discrete, reprodu...
Article
The aim of the present study was to prepare and evaluate microporous pellets loaded with Indapamide (IP) using blend of Avicel PH 101 (Microcrystalline cellulose) and sodium chloride (NaCl) by extrusion/spheronization technique for controlled release. Solid, discrete, reproducible pellets were obtained. Sieve analysis data indicated that the size o...

Polymers are ideal class of materials to cover large application areas due to their light weight, biocompatibility, non-corrosive nature, chemical inertness, low cost and comparable densities with that of human organs. The usage of polymers is increasing day by day due to some of their special features which include higher strength to weight ratio,...
Article
The aim of the present study was to prepare and evaluate microparticles of Indapamide using blend of HPMC and Ethyl Cellulose by Spray drying technique for controlled release. Sieve analysis data indicated that the prepared microparticles were in the ranges of 265 $m to 187$m. The angle of repose, % Carr's index and tapped density were well within...

Question
Can anyone help me to have a literature reference for dissolution studies of boswellia serrata? Which dissolution media to be chosen?
Question
As the tag line suggest I want to know which one is better for human consumption?
There is vast literature present out there.
I am specifically looking for postprandial glycemic response: Which one is better?
Reference will help.
Question
Is there any Stability guidelines as per ICH or any other reference stability guidelines for Personal care products.
Storage conditions, samples to be analyzed? any reference will help.
thanks
Question
Dear All,
We have tried some essential oil in some of our solid dosage forms as a natural ingredient. But on analysis, content of essential oil is decreasing significantly.
We have adsorbed essential oil onto Sio2 then added to the compression mix to formulate tablets.
Open for Suggestions please?
Thanks for your time.
