Introduction
Selina Niethammer studied at the Institute of Social Anthropology, Universität Bern. Selina does research in how ecovillages are dealing with the balancing act to stay autonomous and implement alternative and innovative values and institutions while not losing focus on the integration in the wider societal context. Therefore transnational networks with likeminded projects turned out to be crucial. Through shared values and the feeling of a wider family, the project experiences great support through a strong solidarity.
