We envision this proposed book project to be an outcome of our long engagement and scholarship on South Asian History and Culture from the margins of Bangladesh. The book aims to map, archive, and theorize our collective response to the fascinating body of work produced by the Subaltern Studies collective, starting from the 1980s but continuing throughout the 1990s. How this affected our work? What inspired us to take up the framework? Is it all about uncritical acceptance of this frame? Is there any critique about the school? The proposed book project, to be published in Bengali, is an attempt to take up a stock-taking exercise from Bangladesh.
We seek chapters in the following areas; the list is not meant to be exclusive and chapters in other areas are also welcome!
