Introduction
I am a marine biologist, Postoc at the University of Stellenbosch, working toward the development of a long term management system and conservation plan for the great white sharks. The outcome of my PhD study (2011-2015), under the supervision of Prof. Conrad Matthee, was the first national assessment of South African shark population number and genetic structure. Further, I am currently on the forefront of the development of SharkSafe Barrier Pty Ltd Start-up of the University of Stellenbosch, to launch on the international market the first shark specific and eco friendly solution to keep sharks and beach goers separated from each other (www.sharksafesolution.com)
