The 100 element neutron detector array facility, National Array of Neutron Detectors (NAND) has been installed at Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), New Delhi for experiments in heavy-ion reaction studies. The detector array consists of 100 organic liquid scintillators, each of size 5"×5" coupled to 5 in. diameter photomultiplier. The liqu...
The article is about the characterization of an indigenously developed multiplicity filter module.
A \(\gamma \)-ray spectroscopy system based on a 1\(^{\prime \prime }\times 1^{\prime \prime }\) NaI(Tl) detector and 1.5\(^{\prime \prime }\) photomultiplier tube has been developed at IUAC for teaching laboratory applications involving radioactive sources. Following along the lines of the Phoenix and Expeyes hardware developed in the laboratory e...
Solid state VHF power amplifier capable of delivering 400watts (CW) to superconducting Linear accelerator (LINAC) has been developed and mass produced successfully with state of the art devices, The amplifier is capable of withstanding high VSWR usually experienced while powering super conducting structures. Splitter and combiner technique has been...
Abstract.
The characteristics and performance of the newly commissioned neutron detector array
at IUAC are described. The array consists of 100 BC501 liquid scintillators mounted in a semi-
spherial geometry and are kept at a distance of 175 cm from the reaction point. Each detector
is a 5"x5"cylindrical cell coupled to 5"diameter photomultiplier t...
The first phase of the National Array of Neutron Detectors (NAND) consisting of 26 neutron detectors has been commissioned at the Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), New Delhi. The motivation behind setting up of such a detector system is the need for more accurate and efficient study of reaction mechanisms in the projectile energy range of...
A large neutron detector array being built for the study of fusion-fission dynamics is described. The array consists of 100 liquid scintillators mounted on a nearly semi spherical geometry. Each scintillator coupled to Hamamatsu R4144 photo multiplier tube is readout using custom designed electronic circuits. Homemade integrated electronics module...
Indian National Gamma Array (INGA) is a 4π multi-detector gamma-ray spectrometer based on twenty four Compton-suppressed Clover Germanium detectors with a total photo peak efficiency ~ 5 %. INGA was designed to perform high resolution gamma-ray spectroscopy to study nuclear structure at high spins with stable ion beams at Inter University Accelerat...
A cost-effective high-performance pulse shape discriminator module has been developed to process signals from organic liquid scintillator-based neutron detectors. This module is especially designed for the large neutron detector array used for studies of nuclear reaction dynamics at the Inter University Accelerator Center (IUAC). It incorporates al...
We present the development of high density front end electronics modules for Indian National Gamma Array (INGA) and National Array of Neutron Detector (NAND) at IUAC. The successful development and implementation of these modules reduce the overall infrastructure and operational cost while the setup and tuning of electronics with above detector set...
