Objective: Manual lifting can be burdensome for people who care for power wheelchair users. 35 Though technologies used for dependent transfers are helpful, they have shortcomings of their 36 own. This study compares the usability and task load demand of a novel robotic assisted transfer 37 device to a clinical standard when performing dependent tr...
Purpose: Over one billion people with disabilities (PWDs) and older adults with mobility impairment are currently in need of assistive technology devices (ATDs) and only 10% of those population have ordinarily access to them. The need for advancement in mobility-assistive technology is growing to address the gap in ATDs provision globally. The purp...

I have translated and culturally adapted a survey from English to another language. Then, I conducted a pilot study to assess the face validity of the adapted version. So, would it be necessary to conduct a reliability analysis for the adapted version even if the original version didn't go through the process of reliability analysis?
I have conducted a pilot study on over 50 participants using an online survey. Now, I am going to conduct the same survey on a large group of participants but I would like to know if there is a practical method to calculate the actual sample size based on the data from the pilot study?
Any suggestions?
I am currently working on the process of a cross-cultural adaptation for a survey in English and want to translate it into another language. However, the original survey hasn't gone through a content validation process. It has been used for a descriptive study. So, I am wondering if I can start the process of cultural adaptation even the original one is not valid!
I am working on a project to gather opinions of people with disabilities who use mobility assistive technology (MAT) about information sources they use to find information on MAT. This survey will be applied to different samples from two different countries/cultures. My question is about the needed sample size if one population statistic is known but the other one is not? Note that the study is descriptive. Thanks!
I am working on the sample size I can use for my survey that will be applied in different countries. The target population is people with mobility impairments. I couldn't find clear statistics about the portion of people with mobility impairments around the world. Any suggestions or ideas would be helpful! Thanks!
I'm in the process of proposing my work and still didn't find a clear cut to the answer to my question about the optimal sample size that I can use for the pilot survey study! Any suggestion!
In my survey, I am using two questions for each item with Liker-scales to measure the environmental barriers encountered by people with mobility impairments. The options of the first question representing the frequency are " daily, weekly, monthly, less than monthly, or never" and the options of the follow-up question representing the magnitude are " no problem, a little problem; a big problem". For each scale, I assigned numerical values for each option. The total score of each item is the product of the scores of frequency and magnitude. So, my question is what is the best central tendency measure I should use?
I am going to use a validated questionnaire to conduct a global study. This instrument has already been validated and translated into different languages. So, if I decided to use this questionnaire, can I still do a modification to some of the instruments questions to test my hypotheses?
Thanks
I am conducting a global research to get people with disabilities' feedback about their current mobility devices and the future needs. So, I am wondering if a such study has been conducted anywhere in the world!
