Eastern New Mexico, part of the Great Plains in the USA, has often been neglected for its studies of butterfly diversity because of its arid climate and flat landscape. This study assessed the species richness and abundance of butterflies in two sub-ecoregions of the Great Plains in central eastern NM, including the Semiarid Canadian Breaks and the...
Butterflies are among the most effective bioindicators of climate change; however, their diversity in many rural areas of the Central Himalayas remains understudied. This study provides an assessment of butterfly diversity in the foothills of Bhorletar, Madhya Nepal Municipality, Lamjung District, Nepal, within an elevation range of 420–600 m. Cond...
Hemipeplus quadricollis Pollock, 1999 (Coleoptera: Mycteridae: Hemipeplinae), was originally de- scribed from Rondônia State, Brazil, as its type locality, with 10 paratypes: eight from Brazil (Rondônia State) and two from Peru (Madre de Dios and Loreto departments). However, one of the paratypes from Peru (Madre de Dios) was later identified as a...

A thorough review of the Hesperiidae of Bhutan found that all three existing checklists contained species for which there was no evidence and species for which the evidence was based on misidentifications. Also, many records were only published in grey literature or on non-peer-reviewed websites. We report 25 first records with pictorial evidence f...
