Introduction
Motivated by critical multimodal literacy scholars, my current research interests encompass investigating evidence of linguacultural validity in reading assessments, developing a multimodal reading assessment that gauges the critical reading abilities of multilingual, multicultural, and multiethnic students, and challenging societal power structures through transformative pedagogy and assessments for the development of multiliteracies.
