Good Morning Altruists,
I am looking for good papers on production of steam and electricity from sugarcane bagasse.
WCB-diesel blends emitted higher NOX compared to diesel fuel due to higher bulk modulus, cetane number and oxygen content. Mueller, Boehman and Martin (2009) stated that, higher bulk modulus of biodiesel leads to increased cetane number and advanced injection, which results in earlier start of combustion; this yields longer resident time and higher in-cylinder temperature which may increase NOX emission. Additionally, due to the presence of oxygen in biodiesel, increased heat release occurs during the premixed-burn phase of combustion which may produce more NOX emission. Some authors, suggested that, NOX emission mostly depends on maximum in-cylinder temperature timing. However, it is also important to state that, the reasons stated above are responsible for increased NOX emission for biodiesels and might not have similar effect on NOX emission for other oxygenated fuels.

There are several studies that report impact of increasing cetane number on NOx emission. However, I have not find any literature which explains what happens if cetane number is reduced compared to base diesel.
