Question
The Russian's military invasion of Ukraine was not just a local conflict between two post-Soviet states, but a global event of the 21st century. The war has already triggered a food rizi, an energy crisis, a redistribution of oil and gas markets, a revision of international law, a division of the global space into a democratic and authoritarian one, where the trend towards authoritarianism is only gaining momentum. But the defeat of Russia and of Vladimir Putin's political regime is becoming clearer with each passing day of the war. I assume that this war was a geopolitical adventure that Putin wanted to repeat as "Crimea 2.0.", but he did not foresee the resistance of the Ukrainian people and their will for freedom.
In my article I try to show the imperial ambitions of modern Russia and the geopolitical project called "Putin's empire" which is based on the imperial history of Russia. This project is made by Putin can hardly exist without him. .
Nevertheless, Russia manages to wage war and concentrate situational allies such as China, Iran, North Korea, Belarus and others around it. I think the current global political order is undergoing change, but it is unlikely to shift to authoritarian states that wish to play a more prominent role in world politics. But am I right on this point?
Question
Today, in many countries of the world, decisions are being made to start introducing a booster dose of vaccination. Of course, these decisions are largely represented in the so-called "developed countries", whose economic, industrial and political resources are sufficient to start such a process. However, there are countries for which this can be a difficult process. I am wondering if you are going to do a booster dose of the vaccine? What is the vaccination policy in your country? How do you feel about the annual vaccination against coronavirus, given the trends in the emergence of new mutations of this virus?
Question
The theory of social capital in the social sciences is well developed, considering not only sociology, but also political science and economics. However, in the modern world, which is called the period of formation and development of digital society, the question arises as to whether digital capital can exist? As a form of social capital, as a structure that reproduces social inequalities, as a mechanism for the institutionalization of social (and maybe digital?) Relations. What do you think about it? And how can digital capital be conceptualized in sociology?
Question
Modern processes of globalization are very ambiguous. Some researchers say that globalization is dying and it is being replaced by a "global empire". Others argue that globalization is modified under the influence of institutional or systemic transformations of states. Still others point to the fact that globalization is turning not just into a network structure, but into an uncontrolled process of deconstruction of the "political". I would be interested to know your opinion on this question. It would also be interesting to reflect on the place of space (social, political, physical) in the process of globalization?
