Introduction
My current work attempts to understand the factors that impact the PV system. We are working on studies involving influence of deposited dust on PV performance, interplay between dust and atmospheric parameters. On successful completion of the on-going research, we will be able to recommend best practices for maintenance of a large scale or roof-top solar photovoltaic systems around the world

Buildings are amongst the fundamental needs to human settlements. Present construction industry accounts for nearly 40% of the global GHG emissions. With the raising concerns due to climate change, and corresponding global temperature rise, sustainable practices in building construction is of paramount importance. This article discusses the develop...

End-of-life (EoL) Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels are a concern worldwide, with a projected ~100 million EoL-PV panels by 2035 in India alone. A novel approach of integrating EoL-PV panels as a building material would extend the PV's life and offset the use of conventional building materials. In the present work, we examine the application of this a...

Globally, 70-80 million tonnes of EoL-PV waste is expected by 2050. A large fraction of PV waste heading into landfills threatens the environment and human health. On the other hand, the rising need for building materials in developing countries is imminent. A hitherto untried solution is proposed to use EoL-PV panels as a building material to addr...

Optimum indoor humidity is often associated with comfort and overall well-being. Occupant comfort is often evaluated with a focus on “thermal comfort” using the PMV (predicted mean vote), PDD (predicted percentage of dissatisfied), and adaptive thermal comfort models. Humidity-determined comfort parameters, like skin and respiratory comfort, are we...
Article
Solar photovoltaic (PV) installations worldwide continue to grow, and in 2022, global PV installations crossed 1 TW of solar PV. Various factors like extreme weather events, higher temperatures, humidity, and other operational factors bring down the life of PV panels. A poor functional and (or) economic viability leads PV panel to its End-of-Life (...

Climate classification is essential for buildings because it influences the planning and design of a building, its orientation, building geometry and design of building envelopes such as walls, roofs and openings. In the event of climate change, the existing classifications must be revised or updated to provide both proper guidelines for the design...
Conference Paper
End-of-Life, or discarded, Solar Photovoltaic panels are rising in huge numbers every year throughout the world. This is of grave concern as the environmentally safe handling of EoL-PV is not yet established fully. We propose a novel approach to upcycle End-of-Life (EoL)-PV as a building material that can extend the life of PV by another 2~3 decade...
Conference Paper
Moisture in air is essential for human life. It drives all physiological processes and determines occupant wellness. As a crucial parameter of Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ), it is regulated by building typology and its constituent materials. Besides affecting heating and cooling energy requirements, indoor moisture also determines occupants' c...
Conference Paper
This study conducts a performance assessment of thirty-three 9-year-old monocrystalline panels using I-V curve measurements, simultaneously inspecting various degradations in the panel using thermal imager. The intent of the study was to observe degradation in panels and its performance. Instantaneous efficiency of panels ranged from 7.5% to 10% an...

Do-It-Yourself (DIY) approach is an effective pedagogy method for providing vocational learning experience to the user. The DIY approach also yields a sense of ownership (and authorization) to the masses as they assemble the product themselves. It also provides a vocational training platform for innovative ideas of people by extending the applicabi...

Access to electricity (primarily for lighting) has been a challenge in developing countries, especially for rural areas. Further, hands-on DIY approaches in rural areas could empower the youth in various vocational skills involving sustainable design and energy-use, viz., Photovoltaics (PV), energy-storage devices, smart-sensors, efficient lighting...

Globally installed solar photovoltaics (PV) capacity has crossed three hundred gigawatts and is increasing each year. As the share of solar PV in the energy mix of a country increases, forecasting PV power available will be crucial. To forecast the instantaneous and long-term PV power output, understanding the factors influencing them is necessary....

Tracking systems, that continually orient photovoltaic (PV) panels towards the Sun, are expected to increase the power output from the PV panels. Tremendous amount of research is being done and funds are being spent in order to increase the efficiency of PV cells to generate more power. We report the performance of two almost identical PV systems;...

Question
I am looking for thermal conductivity (W/m K) values for c-Si photovoltaic module, preferably measurement of PV module as a bulk. I would be happy if anybody could share database, or any literature regrading this.
