Constant changes in the economic environment, where globalisation and the development of the knowledge economy act as drivers, are systematically pushing companies towards the challenge of accessing external markets. This reality, together with the fact that website translation and localisation help encourage enterprises to internationalise, thereby closing the gap between internet users from different socio-cultural and linguistic contexts, form the basis of this project.
This project is an initiative aimed at companies, web localisation professionals, researchers and end users. Its general objective focuses on making corporate website localisation processes easier and better for companies, by providing a transdisciplinary and multidisciplinary (linguistic, terminological, translation, documentary, technological and educational) perspective. This is done via the creation of a specialist web platform for support and guidance which brings together different analyses, resources and tools, and promotes communication and interaction between all players involved.
This project explores the relationships between translation/localization and terminology, both from a theoretical and an applied approach. Teaching and professional perspectives are adopted.
New demands in the context of information society compel lecturers and researchers to become the driving force of a revolution represented by the way new technologies are incorporated to every sphere in life and sistematically used in order to achieve academic and professional goals. Aula.Int is an initiative put forward by a team of lecturers and researchers in the translation and interpreting field, with a focus on teaching innovation and the incorporation of ICTs to teaching-learning processes.
Our projects center on strenghtening the cross-curricular relationship among diverse subjects in translation training. With that aim, we have designed a didactic model called PATT (Professional Approach to Translation Training). Furthermore, we focus on creating and promoting access to relevant tools and resources in this field.
