Introduction
My research work mainly concentrates on the study of river hydro-morphodynamic processes, soil erosion assessment at regional scales, and scientific software development. I am also interested in hydraulic risk assessment and management, river restoration, the Amazon River system, ecohydraulics, sediment mechanics, experimental hydraulics, bioengineering application in erosion control, river hydro-morphodynamic numerical modeling, and engineering education.

The objective of this study was to propose a methodology to estimate the hydraulic soil erosion in developing countries, thus, soil erosion maps at a country scale for the years 1990, 2000 and 2010 were obtained. In addition, an inferential model based on the land use change was built to obtain the erosion rate map for the year 2030. Finally, the research included the soil erosion and sediment yield quantification for two of the main watersheds in the country to estimate the environmental coast, whit he purpose of develop a framework in terms of soil erosion regulation.
