Introduction
Conservation ecologist and taxonomist with a strong interest in Coleoptera and Araneae taxa. My doctoral thesis aim at evaluating the potential of the White-backed Woodpecker as an umbrella species for saproxylic beetles in Central Europe. Beside, I am involved in several projects. From the evaluation of rare saproxylic beetles in a network of forest reserves to grassland restoration programs, involving fieldwork, teaching, trainee supervision, statistical support and taxonomic identification.

Active grassland restoration requires soil disturbance by harrowing or ploughing prior to seeding to create favourable conditions for plant germination. Yet, it is still unknown if these soil interventions are detrimental to the local ground‐dwelling invertebrate fauna. We evaluated how ground beetle (Carabidae) and spider (Araneae) communities, tw...

The species-energy hypothesis predicts increasing biodiversity with increasing energy in ecosystems. Proxies for energy availability are often grouped into ambient energy (i.e., solar radiation) and substrate energy (i.e., non-structural carbohydrates or nutritional content). The relative importance of substrate energy is thought to decrease with i...
