Introduction
Evolutionary ecology, behavioral ecology, biogeography, and conservation are the research areas of my interest. During my Master’s I worked on anuran’s communication in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest and in my PhD I studied lizards isolated on artificial islands in the Brazilian Cerrado, focusing on their behavioral and evolutionary ecology.

Contrasting environmental conditions across geographic space might promote divergent selection, making adaptation to local biotic and abiotic conditions necessary for populations to survive. In order to understand how populations adapt to different environmental conditions, studies of local adaptation have been largely used as an interface to addre...

Lizards are commonly preyed by a great variety of predators, including vertebrates and invertebrates. Therefore, it is expected that lizards have developed a wide range of antipredator traits, increasing their chances of successful survival during agonistic events. Defence against predation involves two levels of behavioural strategies, commonly na...

Islands are natural laboratories for evolutionary studies due to their small areas, structural complexity (compared to continents), and their different degrees of isolation. The present study involved four distinct areas, one continental and three insular, on the southern coast of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. These islands were formed by co...
