How we measure 'reads'
A 'read' is counted each time someone views a publication summary (such as the title, abstract, and list of authors), clicks on a figure, or views or downloads the full-text. Learn more

On October 23, 2021, the springtail Sminthurinus domesticus was first collected during a trip tothe tropical greenhouses of the Hortus botanicus in Leiden. On November 15, 2021, moreindividuals of S. domesticus were collected. Furthermore individuals of Sminthurides bifidus werecollected from the surface of a small pond in one of the tropical green...

The black, globular springtail Sminthurinus lawrencei Gisin, 1963 has long been thought of as a rare species, known from only few localities in only three countries, up to and including 2020. This work describes the discovery of this species in other countries resulting from identification of newly collected specimens, a re-analysis of older collec...

High affinity potassium transporters (HKT) are recognized as important genes for crop salt tolerance improvement. In this study, we investigated HvHKT1;5 as a candidate gene for a previously discovered quantitative trait locus that controls shoot Na + and Na + /K + ratio in salt-stressed barley lines on a hydroponic system. Two major haplotype grou...

In recent years, developments in plant phenomic approaches and facilities have gradually caught up with genomic approaches. An opportunity lies ahead to dissect complex, quantitative traits when both genotype and phenotype can be assessed at a high level of detail. This is especially true for studying natural variation in photosynthesis efficiency,...

Recently the springtail genus Folsomides was collected for the first time in the Netherlands. One specimen of F. angularis and four specimens of F. parvulus (2013) were found in the nature reserve "Moerputten", near 's-Hertogenbosch (province of Noord-Brabant), in the southern part of the country. Both individuals were found on former agricultural...

Question
Hi all,
I wish to recombine some 2kbp promoter fragments into pfast-r07
The primer design restrictions are, however, not clear to me.
- should I include the ATG and some amino acids into the fragment? Or just the promoter?
- should I include the G at the end of intended primer?
Thanks in advance,

Photosynthesis is the last trait amenable to significant improvements in the genetic yield potential of major crop species. Previous research has shown that using GMO-approaches, photosynthesis can be improved. In this project, classic breeding schemes and gene identification is used to improve photosynthesis and crop yield in Arabidopsis plants.
