Introduction
Hi! My name is Rodrigo Aguayo, a PhD student in Environmental Sciences at the University of Concepción, Chile. My research interests include hydrological modeling, land-ocean interface, glaciers, climate change, and remote sensing. My main objective is to assess the impacts of climate change on freshwater inputs (magnitude and source) to the coastal system of western Patagonia. Almost all my research (and my vacations!) has been in this area. Personal website: https://rodaguayo.github.io/

Freshwater inputs strongly influence oceanographic conditions in coastal systems of northwestern Patagonia (41–45ºS). Nevertheless, the influence of freshwater on these systems has weakened in recent decades due to a marked decrease in precipitation. Here we evaluate potential influences of climate and land cover trends on the Puelo River (640 m3s−...

The decrease in freshwater input to the coastal system of the Southern Andes (40-45°S) during the last decades has altered the physicochemical characteristics of the coastal water column, causing significant environmental, social and economic consequences. Considering these impacts, the objectives were to analyze historical severe droughts and thei...

Oceanographic conditions in coastal Chilean northern Patagonia (41–46°S) are strongly influenced by freshwater inputs. Precipitation and streamflow records have shown a marked decrease in this area during the last decades. Given this hydro-climatic scenario, we evaluated the hydrological sensitivity driven by climate change in the Puelo River (aver...

Hi,
I have a problem exporting Netcdf from R 3.6.3 to ArcGIS 10.6. ArcGIS does not recognize the file and eventually closes. The problem is solved only using a previous version of R 3.4.4. Does anyone know why? Thank you...
PS: I have tried several versions of ArcGIS and differents computers

Project
The general objective of our proposal is to accelerate the prioritization of Secondary Environmental Quality Standards (NSCA in Spanish) in the main tributary rivers to the fjord system of Northwestern Patagonia. This large and complex estuarine region harbors most of the aquaculture (salmon and mussel farming) conducted in Chile, and has experienced a marked decrease in freshwater inflows, which is altering its oceanographic characteristics.
