Introduction
Hi! I am an Argentinian Post Doctoral Researcher currently working at IFIByNE, Buenos Aires, Argentina. My research areas are Plant Physiology and Molecular Biology, with high expertise in Seed Germination. I am also working on Alternative Splicing Regulation at Ezequiel Petrillo's Lab.

The germination timing of seeds is of the utmost adaptive importance for plant populations. Light is one of the best characterized factors promoting seed germination in several species. The germination is also finely regulated by changes in hormones levels, mainly those of gibberellin (GA) and abscisic acid (ABA). Here, we performed physiological,...

Seed dormancy is a developmental checkpoint that prevents mature seeds from germinating under conditions otherwise favorable for germination. Temperature and light are the most relevant environmental factors regulating seed dormancy and germination. These environmental cues can trigger molecular and physiological responses including hormone signali...
Article
Plants have a high level of developmental plasticity that allows them to respond and adapt to changes in the environment. Among the environmental cues, light controls almost every aspect of A. thaliana’s life cycle, including seed maturation, seed germination, seedling de-etiolation and flowering time. Light signals induce massive reprogramming of...

Gene expression in eukaryotes is a complex process that involves different regulatory mechanisms. RNA processing is an important layer of the path genes enjoy during and after transcription. Particularly, alternative splicing (AS), brings to the game a whole new spectrum of transcripts originated from a single gene, making available a wider range o...

Seed dormancy and germination are relevant processes for a successful seedling establishment in the field. Light is one of the most important environmental factors involved in the relief of dormancy to promote seed germination. In Arabidopsis thaliana seeds, phytochrome photoreceptors tightly regulate gene expression at different levels. The contri...

Gene expression in eukaryotes is a complex process with many layers of regulation. Traditionally the focus was on the transcriptional regulation mainly on initiation, however, RNA processing steps are key determinants of gene expression that should be taken into account. The relative plasticity in these mechanisms allows to generate different trans...

The relief of dormancy and the promotion of seed germination are of extreme importance for a successful seedling establishment. Although alternating temperatures and light are signals promoting the relief of seed dormancy, the underlying mechanisms of their interaction in seeds are scarcely known. By exposing imbibed Arabidopsis thaliana dormant se...

Light is one of the most important factors regulating seed germination, plant growth and development. Light-sensing photoreceptors tightly regulate gene expression to control photomorphogenic responses. Although many levels of gene expression are modulated by photoreceptors, it is still unknown the importance of alternative splicing (AS) in the pro...
Article
As seasons change, dormant seeds cycle through dormant states until the environmental conditions are favorable for seedling establishment. Dormancy cycle is widespread in the plant kingdom allowing the seeds to display primary and secondary dormancy. Several reports in the last decade have focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms of primar...

Question
Hi! I was wondering if anyone who has already lyophilized Arabidopsis thaliana seeds knows the equivalent mg of imbibed or dry seeds you need if you want to obtain 30mg of lyophilized seeds. Thanks a lot! Rocío.
Question
Hi ResearchGate community!
I would like to ask if anyone knows or have prooved an easy/simple/fast method for separating the endodperm from the embryo in A. thaliana seeds in a massive way for qPCRs?? I would like to try it on imbibed seeds.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Cheers,
Rocío.
Question
Hi!
I would like to know what kind of statistical analysis should I perform if the only data I have is the mean and the standard deviation? I have performed gene ontolgies of my data using the Classification SuperViewer Tool of the Bio-Array Resource, so I would like to compare for each one of the ontologies if the differences between the UP and DOWN reg genes are statistically signifficant in each one of those categories. The program just gives you the values of the mean and the standard deviation.
Any suggestion??
Thanks!
Rocío.
Question
Hi!
Does anybody know a programme/software/website to perform HeatMaps without using the R language??
I have a set of 3099 genes up regulated and a set of 2686 genes down regulated under my unique experimental condition and I would like to compare them.
Thanks a lot!
Question
Hi everyone:
I would like to know if somebody has seeds of the following Arabidopsis thaliana mutants to send me:
* saur61
* pin1
* sur1
* iaa16
* iaa4 (aux2-11)
* gh3.6
* pin2
Hope somebody can do this favour to me.
Thanks in advance.
Rocío.
Question
Hi. I am currently doing some histochemical stainings in Arabidopsis seeds, but I get inespecific staining. How can I work this out?
I incubated seeds with X-glc for only 6 hs at 37ºC, but every tissue got stained equally.
Thanks!
Question
I am currently working with the easy GWAS platform and I would like to know how can I download my manhattan plots as PDFs files, because I can´t.
Question
I'm currently working with the GWAPP Web application, but I can't use the program correctly. This red sign keeps appearing:
"Backend-Error stale weak reference to dead node ``/phenotypes``"
Does anyone know how to fix it or what the mistake is? Has it happened to anyone else?
