Micha Brumlik fasst Jonas’ Werk in der Formel einer Revolte gegen die Flucht aus der Welt zusammen. Eine solche kennzeichnet, wie gesehen, die spätantike Gnosis, deren Studium aus geistesgeschichtlicher Perspektive am Beginn von Jonas’ Denkweg steht.

Hans Jonas wurde am 10. Mai 1903 in Mönchengladbach geboren. „Hans wird studieren“ meinte sein Vater, der eine Textilfabrik besaß.

In den sogenannten Lehrbriefen an seine Frau Lore, die Jonas während seiner Teilnahme an den kriegerischen Auseinandersetzungen im Jahre 1944 schrieb, finden wir die Grundideen seiner Philosophie des Lebens. Zwei Einsichten werden bereits hier sichtbar, die späterhin genauer ausdifferenziert werden.

Unter dem Stichwort „Gott in Welt“ wenden wir uns abschließend einem Thema zu, das aus systematischer Perspektive dem gesamten Denkweg von Hans Jonas eine bemerkenswerte Einheit verleiht.
