Introduction
Having a PhD in Psychology and a Post-doc in Education, my research interests include:
(1) Loss and Crisis in a Multicultural lens;
(2) Educational Technology (Simulation, ICT, Mobile Learning) in the context of Social-emotional Learning;
(3) Pediatric Rehabilitation.
I am the Head of Special Education Department and an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Psychology, Achva Academic College. I am also Head of the "Loss, crisis & Resilience in a Multicultural Lens" Lab.

Child loss may undermine one’s faith. Whereas much is known about religion’s role following loss, less is known about the experience of divine struggle—namely, struggling with complex God-related emotions/beliefs—particularly among diverse sociocultural samples. Employing a narrative approach, we interviewed 20 bereaved Modern-Orthodox parents. Ana...
The aim of this exploratory case study was to gain insight into the overlooked learning experience of simulation "observers," through the lens of the mimetic learning theory. Fifty-nine inservice teachers attended five, four-hour-long simulation workshops. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews (15), a focus group, and participants' r...
Pregnancy loss (PL) often results in disenfranchised grief. Although much is known about women's experience of PL in general, less is known about PL among women from different backgrounds, particularly the Ultraorthodox community, where the woman's role is often defined by childbearing, but fertility is not openly discussed. The study's goal was to...
The COVID-19 pandemic has heightened the need to explore individuals' coping with grief. Childhood bereavement is estimated at more than 1.5 million children around the world who lost a caregiver during the pandemic. Although 70% of teachers report having grieving children (GC) in their classroom, most studies examined psychologists' roles in suppo...
Research on educational simulations has attempted to decipher the simulation-based learning (SBL) process by examining factors that facilitate and impede this process. In the current study, we examined the role of SBL participants’ hindrances, in particular their experience of anxiety or fear, which we view using the framework of leaving one’s comf...
The aim of this study was to examine the case of altruistic kidney donation (AKD) following loss, in light of PTG theory. Loss may facilitate trauma alongside post-traumatic growth (PTG).
Although much is known about the motivation for AKD in general, less is known about the motives of bereaved individuals who chose to altruistically donate their k...
Background
It has been estimated in recent studies that more than 1.5 million children worldwide lost a caregiver due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Childhood bereavement is associated with heightened risks of impaired academic and social performance, mental health issues, substance use disorders, and higher mortality rates. Yet children may receive ins...
Autoethnography—a combination of autobiography and ethnography—focuses on the intersection of personal experiences and the culture in which they take place and is considered a viable method for exploring human experiences. The Russo-Ukrainian war has resulted in millions of forcibly displaced asylum-seeking refugees facing ambiguous loss. Whereas m...
Objective
Parental bereavement by homicide is considered an extremely difficult grief experience; hence it may significantly undermine one's meaning structures. Although bereaved parents' meaning-making process has been extensively researched, less is known about meaning reconstruction among Muslim parents bereaved by homicide – an understudied pop...
Introduction
In recent decades, there has been increased use of neuroscience in teacher education, which refers to applying knowledge from brain science to teaching. Similarly, digital learning has been extensively integrated into teacher education, particularly in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the benefits of assimilating educational ne...
Introduction
Simulation-based learning (SBL) is gradually being integrated into the field of teacher education. However, beyond specific content acquisition, comprehensive knowledge of SBL outcomes is limited. This research aimed to systematically develop a scale to measure SBL outcomes in teacher education.
Methods
A mixed-methods sequential expl...
Introduction
Simulation-based learning (SBL) has become an effective tool in the education field, and instructors play a significant role in leading it. Although much is known about participants’ needs, SBL instructors’ needs have yet to be addressed. The study’s goal was to explore SBL instructors’ needs while guiding an SBL workshop using the psy...
Clinical simulation is recognised as an authentic approach that relies on practice through simulations of real situations. The development of scenarios for evidence-based simulations is an important stage in planning simulations. Yet, in teacher education there is a paucity of research on the subject of simulation scenarios. The goal of the current...
Mobile learning (ML) is extremely relevant to distance teaching. Although much is known about ML usage in teacher education, less is known about crucial points in teachers’ ML adoption process under constraints such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of this exploratory case study was to gain insight into the ML adoption process, including its criti...
Using mobile learning (ML) has become exceedingly relevant in times of distant teaching. Although much is known about the factors affecting ML usage, less is known about the ML adoption process under constraints such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of this exploratory case study was to gain insight into the ML adoption process using the lens of R...

This paper presents a novel simulation model, developed amidst COVID-19, given the need to adapt the (ordinarily used) human-based clinical simulations to an online platform. The Virtual Sim(HU)lation (VSH) Model is a human-based virtual simulation. First, we conceptualize the model, its features and utilization, addressing the distance-learning-re...
Amidst COVID-19, teacher education has shifted to online learning. Although much is known about digital inequity in routine times, little is known about it under constrained conditions, particularly among women of minority groups. The study's goal was to explore the online-learning challenges encountered by (minority) Bedouin female preservice teac...
In the last decades, the use of ICT and Neuroeducation have both become frequent in teacher education. Nonetheless, the benefits of assimilating neuroeducation into preservice teacher training—particularly using ICT-based methods, has yet to be addressed. Literature indicates that integrating ICT for teaching purposes improves various aspects of le...
Simulation-based learning (SBL) has become an effective training tool in higher education. Although much is known about the local use of SBL to promote communication skills, less is known about the advantage of using SBL to enhance global collaborations. Our goal is to present and demonstrate the novel simulation model developed following the COVID...
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder, affecting approximately 5 percent of children, with symptoms typically arising in early childhood - causing social and academic impairments. Neurofeedback (EEG Biofeedback - NF) has recently become an effective evidence-based treatment for ADHD. Although much is known...
This commentary describes the religiously innovative adaptations made to customary rituals by Jewish religious leaders to address issues of belonging and resilience during the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic quarantine. These adaptations included allowing religious prayer through a "balcony" minyan, conducting an online chavruta using vi...
Background: While much research has been devoted to examining individual differences in one's interpersonal attachment, very little research has been devoted to examining individual differences in one's attachment to God (ATG). Particularly, how ATG dimensions relate to different religious denominations (RD). Purpose: To explore the relationship be...
This paper describes the religiously innovative adaptations made to customary rituals by Jewish religious leaders, to address issues of belonging and resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic quarantine. These adaptations included allowing religious prayer through a "'balcony" minyan, conducting an online chavruta using video conferencing, and broadc...
Objectives:
The loss of a child is a traumatic life event. While bereavement research has examined the roles of both interpersonal attachment and religiosity in coping with loss, only a handful of studies have addressed the concept of attachment to God (ATG). The current study examined ATG's role as a mediator in the relationship between religious...
As the world becomes more technology oriented, and the popularity of handheld wireless computers continues to grow (Morgan, 2010), schools and universities are required to adapt. The workshop demonstrates the potential value of implementing mobile learning (m-learning) as a subset of e-learning, in an academic course, which was first conducted in O...
