Our research program addresses the problem of Osteoporosis , Osteoarthritis and Obesity induced bone loss. The major focus is to study relationship of declining sex steroid levels in aging women and men to bone loss. These studies are complimented by animal studies and basic bone biology tools examining bone cells at different stages of differentiation. Our studies represent the leading edge of osteoporosis research, especially in the area of female osteoporosis and basic bone cell biology.

Before the advent of western medicines, human race was completely dependent on the traditional/folk medicinal systems which made use of herbal drugs and traditional healers to maintain physical and mental well-being. Traditional bone-setting is an alternative health service which is still famous in many parts of the world where people either do not...
Chondrocytes are the only resident cell types that form the extracellular matrix of cartilage. Inflammation alters the anabolic and catabolic regulation of chondrocytes, resulting in the progression of osteoarthritis (OA). Postmenopausal osteoporosis is one of the world's biggest yet unnoticed health issues. After ovariectomy, declined estrogen level significantly contributes to the elevation of bone marrow adiposity and bone loss leading to osteoporosis. Therapeutics to prevent osteoporosis addressing various aspects are now in short supply. In this study we ma...
In our previous study, a novel BMP2 secretagogue was synthesized belonging to a class of galloyl conjugates of flavanones, with remarkable osteogenic potential that promoted bone regeneration.
