In this paper, the pricing of a European call option on the underlying asset is performed by using a Monte Carlo method, one of the powerful simulation methods, where the price development of the asset is simulated and value of the claim is computed in terms of an expected value. The proposed approach, applied in Monte Carlo simulation, is based on...
Most investors change stock prices in long-term businesses because of global turbulence in the markets. Consequently, prediction of stock price is a difficult task because of unknown effective factors in this area although previous researches have shown that neural networks are more effective and accurate in many areas than traditional statistical...
One of the fundamental problems in supply chain management is to design the effective inventory control policies for models with stochastic demands because efficient inventory management can both maintain a high customers' service level and reduce unnecessary over and under-stock expenses which are significant key factors of profit or loss of an or...
Volleyball premier league (VPL) simulating some phenomena of volleyball game has been presented recently. This powerful algorithm uses such racing and interplays between teams within a season. Furthermore, the algorithm imitates the coaching procedure within a game. Therefore, some volleyball metaphors, including substitution, coaching, and learnin...
Parallel machine scheduling is one of the most common studied problems in recent years, however, this classic optimization problem has to achieve two conflicting objectives, i.e. minimizing the total tardiness and minimizing the total wastes, if the scheduling is done in the context of plastic injection industry where jobs are splitting and molds a...
This paper proposes an improvement on the recently introduced Henry Gas Solubility Optimization (HGSO) metaheuristic algorithm that simulates Henry’s gas law (i.e., the concentration of a gas sample in a liquid solvent is proportional to the concentration of the sample in the gas phase). As an improvement, we apply quantum theory instead of the sta...
Multilevel thresholding image segmentation has received considerable attention in several image processing applications. However, the process of determining the optimal threshold values (as the preprocessing step) is time-consuming when traditional methods are used. Although these limitations can be addressed by applying metaheuristic methods, such...
This paper presents a novel scheduling of a resource-constrained Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS) with consideration of the following sub-problems: (i) machine loading and unloading, (ii) manufacturing operation scheduling, (iii) machine assignment, and (iv) Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) scheduling. In the proposed model, both the AGV and machi...

Recent decades have seen increasing utilization of optimization packages, based on Operations Research and Mathematical Programming techniques, for effective management of the provision of goods and services in distribution systems. Large numbers of real-world applications have widely shown that the use of computerized procedures for distribution p...
Inventory control is one of the most critical issues in corporate management. Many mathematical models have been developed to optimize control strategies for the companies’ inventory. Economic production quantity (EPQ) is one of the classic models for inventory control, which is widely used. To deal with the uncertainty in the real world, we need t...
This paper proposes a novel optimization algorithm called the Multi-Objective Volleyball Premier League (MOVPL) algorithm for solving global optimization problems with multiple objective functions. The algorithm is inspired by the teams competing in a volleyball premier league. The strong point of this study lies in extending the multi-objective ve...
Job scheduling has always been a challenging task for production managers. It is of special importance if it involves multi-objectives and parallel machines. In this research, our direction is largely motivated by the uncertainty emerged in production systems, where processing times of jobs and setup times of machines are not fixed and they are sub...

MOEAs are tuned via Taguchi method in terms of five standard performance metrics.
Abstract
The influence of Hazardous Materials on different kind of human aspects motivate scholars to increase their attention for decreasing negative impacts of them to human life. In this concern, this paper addresses a decision structure to transfer the hazardous m...
This article proposes a novel metaheuristic algorithm called Volleyball Premier League (VPL) inspired by the competition and interaction among volleyball teams during a season. It also mimics the coaching process during a volleyball match. To solve global optimization problems using the volleyball metaphor, there are terms such as substitution, coa...

Hello all
one of my paper has been reviewed recently.
and the reviewers ask me:
There are many mainstream EC algorithms for scheduling, including GA, PSO, ACO, etc, what is the motivation of using IWO in this work? Please give a strong justification for IWO to have potential to outperform the mainstream EC algorithms.
how can I answer this question?
Can anyone tell me what is the best way to handling Time Windows constraints of the routing problem in Matlab software?
this concept related to Multi Objective Evolutionary Algorithm (MOEA)

In this project, a novel Multi-Objective Volleyball Premier League (MOVPL) algorithm will be presented for solving the for scheduling parallel machines with splitting jobs and resource constraints problem. Two minimization objectives - the total tardiness and the number of waste - are considered, simultaneously.
This project aims to propose an improvement for the recently introduced Henry Gas Solubility Optimization (HGSO) metaheuristic algorithm that simulates the Henry’s law.
