Introduction
My research interests include design of simulation applications using multi agents systems and infrastructures required for their use. I have conduct several research projects of complex system modeling and simulation where decision should be based on a spatially explicit understanding of complex ecological systems and their interactions with social systems in Reunion Island, a French overseas department in the Western Indian Ocean.

On a global scale, the environmental footprint of digital technology represents a continent two to three times the size of France and five times the size of the French car fleet. In order to limit the negative impact of this overabundance and to optimize the emerging computing potential of our environment, we propose an architecture model and its i...

EN- Ambient intelligence is a paradigm for the deployment of intelligent, adaptive environments designed to support users' activities. Based on this paradigm, Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) Systems help to prevent and improve the health and living conditions of its users, who are often people affected by a motor or cognitive disorder. However, in th...

This paper presents an agent-based model, which is developed to support decision-makers in the selection of best biowastes management scenarios. The model simulates biowastes transfers between the production points to farmland and analyses supply/demand balance of organic matter (transformed biowastes) as a complementary organic resources for crops...

Ambient computing and Internet of Things have reached a level of maturity and a dynamic activity of research and engineering actors. Their goal is to create interactions between a set of distributed devices in an environment, in order to assist human activities. Multi-agent system is an interesting tool for coordinating devices and services for thi...

A multi-agent based simulation aims at imitating complex phenomena or processes of the real world. For that purpose, the simulation platform has the simulated model evolve by running a virtual time and by activating agents’ behaviour at each advancement of the time. This time coherence is ensured by the scheduler. The way this scheduler manages the...

In this work we deal with action selection issues for software agent operating in ambient environment which is highly dynamic. Unpredictable events may occur and inappropriate actions may damage the software and its environment. Adaptation ability is a key requirement for such issues. We use multi-agent paradigm to address them. We propose a regula...

The environment plays an important role in multi-agent sys- tems (MASs), especially in situated MASs where they can be used as a shared memory for agents and as a medium for indirect coordination. There could exist different types of environment, with different structure and containing differ- ent types of information. The more choices for environm...

Therefore, limitations could appear when transferring such simulation models to isl...

Simulation models can be used as decision support tools for smart city design and planning. They allow to evaluate the possible consequences of projects, before their implementation in the real world. Decision makers could benefit from replicable ones that can be relevant and easily transferable from one territory to another so solutions can be com...

Emergent phenomena are often relevant for users and developers of simulation models. In this paper, we show that such a reification can be considered as an effective way to refine simulation models in which...

This paper proposes a model to represent and simulate human activities in farming systems. Our definition of the activity concept (otherwise said 'action') stems from the 'situated action' theory (Suchman, 1987). Action may be summarized simply as 'what people are actually doing'. Therefore, we characterize action according to four dimensions: acto...

Question
Our idea aim at making the multiagent simulation paradigm evolve in order to consider time as a new medium of interaction, or in other word to integrate the temporal dimension as an environment, in the same way as the spatial environment and the social environment. This time environment is used to support the exchange and the storage of time information. It complements the simulation scheduler which manages the simulation activation cycle.
