Introduction
I study ecology of savannas, forest fires, and carbon cycle of Amazonian forests. My studies help to understand environmental dynamics of forest and non forest ecosystems in the Northern Brazilian Amazon. I am living in Boa Vista (Roraima) since 1984, where I currently have a research group working linked to the INPA.
