About

My lab largely works on the cellular process of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in embryonic heart development and in cancer metastasis. Our work was the first to identify the growth factor, TGFbeta, as a regulator of EMT. A second project explores heart defects produced by low level exposure to trichloroethylene. We've also collaborated on several engineering projects to look at new imaging techniques including a new project looking at mitochondrial transfer between cells.
