Introduction
I completed my PhD in Crop Ecology in Ferdowsi University of Mashhad-Iran in 2017. In addition, since 2004, I have been working as a researcher and professor at Herat University, Afghanistan. I conducted research projects in soil nutrition management. Reducing the use of chemical fertilizers and preventing environmental pollution is my interest topic. Inter cropping, increasing consumption efficiency, and increasing biodiversity in agricultural ecosystems can be a solution to these problems.

Background & Objectives: This study was conducted to evaluate the species and genetic diversity of agricultural ecosystems in Afghanistan. Materials and Methods: In order to carryout this research, countrywide data set was collected. The required data were extracted through collected questionnaires from 388 counties in 34 provinces. For this purpos...
EXTENDED ABSTRACT
Introduction: Intensive agricultural systems are mainly monocultures with low sustainability because they neglect the mutual relationships between living organisms and the environment. Intensification in spatiotemporal dimensions and uncontrolled use of external inputs have created ecosystems with less diversity and greater vulne...
Saffron Crocus sativus L. (Iridaceae) is one of the most valuable and expensive medicinal plants in the world. In order to compare the quality characteristics of saffron in Afghanistan and Iran, samples of dried C. sativus from different saffron-producing regions of Herat province (Afghanistan) and Torbat Heydarieh county (Iran) were collected in t...

Optimal availability of nutrients, particularly nitrogen (N), from authorized resources is one of the most important issues in organic agriculture. Intercropping forage legumes with cereal crops may be a way of providing ecological services such as providing N for companion or following crops by biological N fixation.

Introduction
Forage quality is limited in many forage production systems in developing countries, specifically in arid and
semiarid conditions. Mixing Persian clover as a forage legume with cereals such as barley has been proposed as
a way of increasing forage quantity and quality. Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) is an annual cereal which can
grow i...
Introduction1
Intercropping of cereals with legumes has been a common cropping system in arid and semi-arid areas such as Iran and Afghanistan. It is understood that competition for resources such as water, nutrients, and sunlight by the co-existing species could, however, reduce the yields of component crops. Often reductions in the yields of indi...

The research focuses on barley output in the Injil District of Herat Province, Afghanistan, and the influence of climate change between the years 2008-2017. Over the previous 10 years, the study's findings imply a relative rise in both mean maximum and mean minimum temperature, as well as a relative drop in yearly precipitation. According to the fa...
In the last few decades, one of the important problems in agriculture is the high cost of fertilizers in plant production and their dispersion in the field, which gives rise to soil and water pollution. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the effect of nitrogen supply sources on wheat cultivars' quantitative and qualitative yield in the Herat pro...

Abstract
An experiment was conducted in Shadmehr region as randomized complete block design with 10
treatments with four replication during two years (2014-2015 and 1015-2016) in order to evaluate the
response of flower and corm yield of saffron to nanobiologic fertilizer application methods in comparison to
cow manure and chemical fertilizer. The...
