A new species, Hygrocrates deelemanus Kunt & Yağmur sp. n., is described on the basis of both sexes from the Mediterranean region of Turkey. In this study, the herpetofauna of nine islands in Uluabat Lake was investigated. On these islands, a total of 83 specimens belonging to nine species were listed. Of these, one belongs to the urodelans, one belongs to the anurans, one belongs to the tortoises, three belong to the lizards and three belong to the snakes.
