Introduction
My research centers on the diversity, distribution, ecology, and taxonomy of gelatinous zooplankton. As part of my PhD, I am investigating the diversity, distribution patterns, and taxonomic uncertainties of siphonophores in Norwegian waters. This study employs an integrative approach, combining morphology-based taxonomy with advanced molecular techniques.

Macrofaunal assemblages associated with seagrass contribute to many environmental services offered by seagrasses through their biological functions. They contribute to the ecosystem health by enhancing productivity, resilience, and biodiversity through nutrient cycling, controlling epiphytes, stabilizing sediment, and supporting trophic interaction...

The swarm of Scyphozoa, Cyanea nozakii is considered as a nuisance since it causes ecological catastrophe and dangerous stings to humans. This species is distributed in the Pacific and Indian Ocean. The present study reports the first swarm of C. nozakii Kishinouye, 1891 from the coastal waters of Northwestern Bay of Bengal during winter monsoon...

Levrault, Paris, 1830) was encountered along the coastal waters of Rushikulya and Gopalpur, east coast of India during the winter monsoon survey of 2021, adding a new swa...

Scyphozoans, commonly known as “True Jellyfish”, belong to an exclusively marine class of phylum Cnidaria. 242 extant species of scyphozoans have been reported from the world oceans, 43 of which have been reported from Indian waters. Scyphozoan fauna of India comprises three orders in which the order Rhizostomeae represents the majority (65%), foll...

The present study describes the first record of Acromitus flagellatus (Maas, 1903) swarm from the east coast of India, Bay of Bengal. Specimens of A. flagellatus were collected from the estuarine waters of Saptamukhi river channel, of the Sundarbans deltaic region during February 2021. The exumbrella was 160 ± 40 mm in diameter, with oral arms meas...
