The study is aimed to present data on prevailing directions, variability and magnitude of currents within the investigation of the Black Sea circulation at the depth below Statistical pycnocline. Vertical profiles of the velocity were obtained from the in-situ measurements during expeditions of the Marine Hydrophysical Institute. Among these data,...

This work investigates the regional specifics of the appearance and propagation of internal waves at the shelf of the Black Sea. The parameters of horizontal inhomogeneity associated with changes in the bottom relief and density of seawater that lead to instability and destruction of internal waves are studied. The numerical experiments for the spr...
Article

Purpose. The purpose consists in a combined analysis of satellite observations of surface manifestations of internal waves near the Crimean coast and the results of numerical simulation of influence of seasonal thermohaline conditions and the relief on their structure, dynamics and intensification. Methods and Results. Based on the analysis of rem...

The mechanism of generating barotropic long waves on the Black Sea Turkish coast is studied. Influence of the shelf shape and width upon the spatial-temporal parameters of the edge waves’ lower modes is noted based on solution of the complete boundary-value problem using the developed algorithms of the finite-difference approximation. To simulate t...
Conference Paper
The present work analyses the numerical experiments on the climatic circulation modeling run with a thermodynamic model of the Black and the Azov Seas developed by the Institute of Numerical Mathematics, RAS.Maps of currents and vertical sections of temperature fields are given. The model is shown to reproduce the main elements of water circulation...
Article
Full-text available
A study of a numerical prognostic experiment on the Black Sea circulation was performed on the basis of a general ocean circulation model designed at the Marine Hydrophysical Institute. The numerical calculation time range was determined by the data available on the external flows of mass and energy (the atmosphere state reanalysis). Sea state for...

Results of numerical prognostic experiments on modeling of the Black Sea circulation based on thermohydrodynamic eddy-resolving MHI model are studied. Spectral peaks in the oscillations of the current velocity components’ vector, temperature, salinity and vertical velocity are identified for the selected stations by means of the Fourier spectral an...

Article

The problems of using resources of the BOD of MHI NAS of Ukraine to provide information support for monitoring in the Azov-Black Sea Basin are considered. The information concerned the current state of the data bases, designed information products, activities on receiving data and providing users with near real time data, as well as some examples o...

Distribution of conte...
Chapter
Principles of constructing an integral model designed to predict phase transitions in marketable fish populations are discussed. The considered technique represents a self-organizing system incorporating a series of empirical prognostic models. The model consists of a set of programs, which form a block of the automated fisheries prediction system.
