Phylogenetic tree analysis is a process for finding the highest possible revolution tree history of an interested organism. The important step of the process is multiple sequences alignment (MSA) which is operated using any MSA tool that produces a result in blocks of the Phylip format. Bioinformaticians have to manually determine and trim gaps of...

SNP-SNP interactions have been recognized to be basically important for understanding genetic causes of complex disease traits. Logic regression is an effective methods for identifying SNP-SNP interactions associated with risk of complex disease. However, identifying SNP-SNP interactions are computationally challenging and may take hours, weeks and...

There are many proposals for moving traditional video surveillance systems into the cloud, commonly known as Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS). Most systems use Hadoop technology for storing video records and distributing video analysis tasks. However, Hadoop is more appropriate for video retrieval services than real time video analysis. Also...

Genotype imputation based analysis usually consumes computational and data intensive. This paper presents a practical and efficient process for enhancing the genotype imputation based analysis on Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) using High Performance Computing (HPC). Our process is split into data quality control, haplotype estimation, and imp...

Current video surveillance systems are popular on standalone applications. A free video surveillance software usually fixes its configuration on a single desktop. This makes it is hard to scale the system up for supporting many cameras. Moreover, it also needs a one-stop management service method. Our research tries to enhance OpenVSS, an open sour...

Similar to other social networking sites, Facebook was not designed for being used by the visually impaired. In research concerning about Facebook's interface, there were many problems the visually impaired using the site via a screen reader. The main issues were about web accessibility and usability. These two major issues impact on travelling thr...

In image processing, different groups of subalgorithms give similar outputs. Therefore, there are more than one solution to process an image for a specified result. This research uses Taverna Workbench, a workflow technology, to help the developer in designing and checking the performance of algorithm sets more easily. We propose our integrated web...

It is clear that DEWS will provide advanced information of impending tsunami arrival at beaches and coastal areas around the Indian Ocean. It is proposed in this paper that simulation of the possible effects of such tsunami from a variety of locations, directions, and magnitudes be carried out. This can be used in conjunction with the tsunami warni...

Genome-Wide Association (GWA) analysis is a powerful method for identifying loci associated with complex traits and drug response. Parts of GWA analyses, especially those involving thousands of individuals and consuming hours to months, will benefit from parallel computation. It is arduous acquiring the necessary programming skills to correctly par...

This paper describes a Taverna workflow environment with supporting web services for Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNP) analysis of genes in shrimp. The workflow is used to investigate SNPs advantages for gene development. Our first workflow environment did not give satisfying results for the phylogenetic tree processes because the data flows be...
