Questions

Questions (3)
Question
This is of interest when writing in English on the German dual system of vocational education and training and on several phenomena (or aspects) in the research & development work. Should I just write 'pilot project', when I know that the 'Modellversuch' is much more than the translation conveys. And how can I explain with the literal translation 'accompanying research', what all is at stake with 'Begleitforschung'. Finally, what about the wordings 'social shaping' and 'shaping-oriented' as translations for 'Gestaltung' (or 'Soziale Gestaltung') and 'gestaltaungsorientierte'? (Here we are firstly talking about social participation and social shaping of work, technology and work organisation. Secondly, we are talking about learning that equips learners to become involved in such participation. And thirdly, we are talking about the role of research in facilitating participation and related learning.)
Question
Here I refer to European understanding on Vocational Education, Vocational Training or Vocational Education and Training (VET). I use these as umbrella concepts that include both initial VET (for young people) as well continuing VET (for adults).
Question
In European context we tend to use the umbrella concept "Vocational Education and Training (VET)" when we refer to school-based vocational education or to dual system of apprentice training or to alternance models in which trainees rotate between learning venues.
In UNESCO terminology they use the umbrella concept "Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)" to include also the higher level of vocational/professional ( = 'technical') education outside the Higher Education.
