In our recent work we realized that In root outer cell layers there were Fulvic acid compounds bound to heavy metals. It’s really weird to see such a compound in root tissues of rice seedlings growing under hydroponic culture! I hope if any expert could explain this result. Everyone knows that plant systems are unable to form Fulvic acid or at least no one has yet observed or claimed this in the literature. Our XANES result showed that this compound doesn’t carry any carboxylic group and is very much similar to FA structure. It would be appreciated if anyone of you could explain this finding.
Question
I have found different methods suggested and followed by peers recently. However, none of them had similar methodological steps. I was wondering if someone could kindly suggest the most reliable method.
Question
Comment 2: The inter-relationships among soil properties (e.g., amorphous manganese oxides and soil clay, soil total Hg and available Hg) made the stepwise regression results artificial. In other others, the authors could not assume they were independent variables by ignoring such inter-relationships, although some published papers have done this. The reviewer would recommend the authors to choose a better statistical method, which can exclude the inter-relationships among dependent variables, to reanalyze their data. These statistical methods could be found widely in the literature.
Question
I have raised this query for i can see clear differences between the concentration of metals in different organs when they are compared solely based on their ppm values or their amount in whole organs like whole root( e.g. Cu in root based on ppm value multiplied by root dry weight) or whole shoot. I would appreciate your clear and informative answers.
