Introduction
Patricia Suárez is an associate professor of economics at Oviedo University (Spain). She was a visiting scholar at the Institute for Economic Research (Switzerland) in 2010 and earned her PhD from the University of Oviedo in 2011. She has published in numerous journals, including Labor History, Business History, Investigaciones de Historia Económica, Papers in Regional Science, Transportation Research Part A: Policy and Practice and many other scholarly publications.
