Introduction
I am working as researcher at neuroscience research center, tehran, iran. My main research focuse on the modulatory role of cholinergic system on visual processing. I am using in vivo whole cell patch clamp recording, optogenetics manupulation, and electrical stimulation, to investigate the role of astylcholine secretion as well as sensory input on the dinamic of subthreshold activity of single neuron in the visual cortex of mice. I have also worked on electrophsiologically profilling of neocortical neural suptypes. To do this goal, i have worked on 3 subtypes (somatostatin, parlvabumin, pyramidal) of neuron in vivo as well as 5 subtypes (sst, pv, pyr, 5ht3r and vip) in vitro.

A lot of efforts have been made to understand the structure and function of neocortical circuits. In fact, a promising way to understand the functions of cortical circuits is the classification of the neural types, based on their different properties. Recent studies focused on applying modern computational methods to classify neurons based on molec...

The performance of myoelectric control highly depends on the features extracted from surface electromyographic (sEMG) signals. We propose three new sEMG features based on the kernel density estimation. The trimmed mean of density (TMD), the entropy of density, and the trimmed mean absolute value of derivative density were computed for each sEMG cha...

Introduction: Sensory processing is profoundly regulated by brain neuromodulatory systems. One of the main neuromodulators is serotonin which influences higher cognitive functions such as different aspects of perceptual processing. So, malfunction in the serotonergic system may lead to visual illusion in psychiatric disorders such as autism and sch...

A community-based transcriptomics classification and nomenclature of neocortical cell types To understand the function of cortical circuits, it is necessary to catalog their cellular diversity. Past attempts to do so using anatomical, physiological or molecular features of cortical cells have not resulted in a unified taxonomy of neuronal or glial...

To understand the function of cortical circuits it is necessary to classify their underlying cellular diversity. Traditional attempts based on comparing anatomical or physiological features of neurons and glia, while productive, have not resulted in a unified taxonomy of neural cell types. The recent development of single-cell transcriptomics has e...

Cholinergic inputs from the basal forebrain modulate various visual cortex functions, including visual discrimination, contrast response function, orientation tuning, signal to noise ratio (SNR), and plasticity. Acetylcholine (ACh) has been known to exert its modulatory action via two distinct acetylcholine receptors (AChR), namely nicotinic ACh re...

The aim of this study was to reconstruct low-quality High-density surface EMG (HDsEMG) signals, recorded with 2-d electrode arrays, using image inpainting and surface reconstruction methods. METHODS: It is common that some fraction of the electrodes may provide low-quality signals. We used variety of image inpainting methods, based on partial diff...

The cholinergic system is a potent neuromodulatory system that plays critical roles in cortical plasticity, attention and learning. In this project, we are examining how the cholinergic system modulate the activity of neurons of V1 in response to stimulus contrast.
