Effective local waste management is crucial for resource efficiency and the transition to a circular economy. In the Gorlice poviat, waste management adheres to principles of selective waste collection and legal compliance, with efforts from local authorities and organizations to promote ecological awareness among residents. However, challenges inc...
The chapter discusses the primary method of municipal solid waste management—sanitary landfills—and the associated risks to the environment and public health. It highlights that, while landfilling is widely used, it can be applied to various waste types, including household, industrial, medical, and hazardous wastes. These wastes pose significant e...
Quercetin and its derivatives possess strong activity against neuroinflammation. However, low bioaccessiblity limits their effectiveness. As a part of modern society strong urge to find potent natural sources of these compounds has raised. Among all, bee-collected pollen can be better source of quercetin/derivatives, compared to some usual food stu...
Due to the accumulation of heavy metal compounds formed in plants for food that lead to human toxicity, and probably high incidence of diseases, ,detoxification of Cadmium and Lead as heavy metals in Oryza sativa rice by treated Pistachio Shell (PS) and Eggshells(ES) as two available and novel agro and food bio-wastes has been studied. The original...
In order to avoid side effects of synthetic drugs, mankind is constantly looking for natural sources. Over the last few decades neurodegenerative disorders (NDDs) have been on the biggest rise among other human diseases.
