Introduction
Co-founder of an international research project with titled the ‘Global Sound Movement’ (GSM) – Winners of the 2016 Times Higher Education Award for Excellence and Innovation in the Arts.
GSM travel internationally to remote regions in social and economic need and sample / archive traditional local musical instruments specific to that region or community. Once sampled GSM generate virtual instruments and sound libraries that are sold to the international music community developing musical composition. All income is donated back to the community that constructed the original instrument aiding their economy. This enables the communities we work with to earn from their creativity while preserving a piece of cultural history.
