Introduction
I am working on climatology, especially on atmospheric circulation patterns and their regional and local impacts. I am developing a project in vegetation phenology (connected to weather types variability), based on a photo monitoring project (PHOTOPHENO-21, since 2011) in wine growing areas, orchards and gardens near my birthplace in Burgundy (department of Côte-d'Or, France).

In the space of the entire universe, the only conclusive evidence of life, is found on Earth. Although the ultimate source of all life is unknown, many investigators believe Earth, Mars, and Venus may have been seeded with life when these planets, and the sun, were forming in a galactic cluster of thousands of stars and protoplanets. Yet others hyp...

Billions of years ago, the Northern Hemisphere of Mars may have been covered by at least one ocean and thousands of lakes and rivers. These findings, based initially on telescopic observations and images by the Mariner and Viking missions, led investigators to hypothesize that stromatolite fashioning cyanobacteria may have proliferated in the surfa...

This article proposes to use the Köppen classification to evidence climate change in Brazil. To do so, the average monthly temperature and precipitation data were computed for a set of 208 stations, representative of the climatic diversity of Brazil for the period from 1964 to 2015. The originality of our approach is not only to look at the shift b...

The annual climate types (TCA) based on the Köppen classification have shown the diversity of regional situations in Brazil. However, this approach addressed the study of the frequency of TCA for only one period as a whole (1961-2015) without taking into account the differences that may result from the climatic changes observed during these five de...

This article proposes to use the Köppen classification to define "Annual Climate Types" (ACT) for a set of 208 stations, representative of the climatic diversity of Brazil. The average monthly temperature and precipitation data for the period 1961-2015 allow to establish the frequency of ACTs for each station. The statistical and cartographic treat...

The droughts in Rennes : past, present and future. This study presents the evolution of droughts in Rennes since 1879 (observed data) up to 2100 (projected data). The methods used are the water balance with the choice of the index of the evaporation deficit and the types of annual climate (TCA) using the Köppen classification. The results show the...

The main parameters allowing to characterize and compare the climatic features over the terrestrial planets of the Solar System are developed according to the distance from the host star; the existence of an atmosphere, its composition and motion; and the orbital parameters allowing to identify seasonal more or less contrasted oscillations (obliqui...

Mean diurnal rainfall regimes over Eastern Africa (also referred to as the Greater Horn of Africa) are studied based on 3-hourly data from the TRMM 3B42 data set, averaged over a 17-year period (1998–2014). The consistency with long-term mean raingauge data, available for partly independent periods, varies from good (Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea and So...

Very little research into the climate of the late Middle Ages, during what historians call the “little ice age”, has hitherto been undertaken for western France because of the paucity of data. This article seeks to address this issue by using the chronicle of the Laval notary Guillaume Le Doyen. This text in poor quality verse relates local events...

The paper presents the baseline climate of the Cotnari wine growing region, the climate under whose influence were set up the wine grape varieties, wine types and grapevine training systems of this vineyard. It is also presented the baseline climate suitability for wine grape growing and its spatial variation in the vineyard area. The study is base...
