The goal for our long-standing project is getting the big picture of the marine mammals evolutionary history with the fossil record of the Pisco basin in southern Peru, tracing back thus the history of the Humboldt biotic system. For that goal, many sub-projects are currently carrying on focusing in the systematics, comparative morphology, morphometrics, paleoecology, taphonomy and functional anatomy of cetaceans, pinnipeds, aquatic sloths, sirenians and musteloids as well as the geology and geochronology of the fossil-bearing localities. Follow other related sub-projects such as "Fossil Mysticetes of the deserts of Peru", "the Miocene hyperdiversification of sperm whales", "los Kentriodontidae del Neógeno de la costa sur del Perú". Keep tuned!
