Being very relevant today, the problems of religion are not yet given enough attention especially in the area of psychological study of individual religious identity (affiliation), its content and specifics in modern society . Moreover the problems of interconnection of identity with the certain religious and social attidudes’ group especially connected with intergroup interaction used to stay quite unclear today. The current research is based on the domestic ethnopsychological approach of N. Lebedeva, G. Soldatova and T. Stefanenko. So we analyze ethnicity from the point of moderate constructivism, taking in account contextual relevancy of both instrumentalistic and original approaches. Distinguishing extrinsic (religion as a means to others, to achieve the result) and intrinsic (religion as an individual inner means, an important way of life) religious orientations G. Allport’s 2dimantional religiosity theory is performing as a theoretical base in the area of religious identity. Moreover the extrinsic orientation can be subdivided into individual and social. The expected results 1. The research materials of sociopsychological religious identity analysis would be published in the series of articles: religious identity in cultureanthropological perspective; religiosity in selfconsciousness of modern Russians: sociologic perspective; psychological study of religious identity; religious identity: structure and research techniques. 2. The research data touching to problems of interconnection of religious identity with an amount of social attitudes would be represented in the series of articles: ethnonational attitudes and religious identity; ethnic identity and religion treatment; religious identity and personal value orientations’ sphere; treatment towards the migrants and religious identity; different religious identity and patriotic ideologems’ features; religion attitudes in the context of coping behavior; youth religious identity through E.Ericson psychosocial theory. 3. The research results of comparative analysis of youths belonging to 4 the most widespread Russian confessions (Orthodox Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism) in several country regions. Series of articles would represent similar and different features of 3 religious identities: Islam identity of today Russian youths; religious identity features of Buddhist youths; Orthodox identity in youth environment.
