Introduction
Noemí Pereda, Ph.D., is a tenured professor at the University of Barcelona. Her major areas of research interest are developmental victimology, psychological trauma, and risk and protective factors. She heads the Research Group on Child and Adolescent Victimization (GReVIA) at the University of Barcelona since 2009. She has been PI of several competitive research projects in the field of developmental victimology funded by the World Health Organization, the Spanish Government, and other public and private agencies. She is the author of more than 40 scientific papers exploring the effects of violence on children and youth in Spain and Latin America.
